We cater to the needs of your business or organization, and of course the tourists who visit the states we service. We stock a complete line of souvenirs and postcards for Minnesota, North Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and South Dakota, and for businesses along our international border to the north, Canadian products. We offer promotional items through our participation in the advertising specialties market.

Custom embroidery and screen printing was brought in house with our acquisition of Northern Lakes Embroidery & Screen Printing in October of 2013. We offer a myriad of existing designs that can be modified to fit your needs. 

The roots of our company date back to 1937 – the same year as Paul Bunyan’s first appearance here! Our hometown of Crosslake has been our headquarters ever since. In 1958, brothers Otto and Richard Schalow purchased Northern Minnesota Novelties from its original owner. Some years later, David Nordgren came on board and became Richard’s partner when Otto decided to leave the company to pursue other interests. Now, Richard’s son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Beth, are Dave’s partners. Stability in ownership for over half a century has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience in the tourism market. NMN may be a tough name to pronounce, but it is a name you should know if you wish to bring in the best product to cater to the tourists who visit your store.
